This is how the ASK-Weir works:

The ASK Weir opens and closes controlled by the float. After the impoundment depth is reached, water enters the float chamber. The resulting float buoyancy opens the gate proportional to the incoming flow. This way, the impoundment depth is maintained at a constant level at every possible flow. Therefore, the retention volume is utilized to the fullest. 

The perfect technical solution to maintain constant impoundment depths and to activate additional storage volume with operational safety and durability.

Automated float controlled gate weirs are completely mechanical water surface regulators that maintain constant water levels. Therefore, it is possible to eliminate overflow head at spillway structures and to activate the additional storage volume. Because it is controlled complety by upstream water levels, the ASK-Weir can be utilized even in backwater situations. Next to the impoundment depth regulation, ASK-Weirs assume tasks like floating solids retention and flood control at retention basins and reservoirs. Exact operation and reliability is ensured even under unusual working conditions, like i.e. large water amounts, frost, major contimination, etc.
